1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Public Notice System ("the Platform"), operated by Symverge Technologies Limited for Federal Republic of Nigeria.
By accessing the Platform, starting an application, or publishing a notice, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. About the Platform
The Platform provides a digital service for publishing and verifying change-of-name public notices through a searchable national registry.
Publication on the Platform is permanent, publicly accessible, and verifiable by anyone. It supports — but does not replace — the statutory requirements for a valid legal name change under Nigerian law, including a sworn affidavit from a court of law and any other steps required for your situation.
We do not provide legal advice. You are responsible for confirming that publication here meets your needs before you pay and publish.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
You must provide accurate information about yourself and must be the person named in the notice you are publishing, or duly authorised to act on their behalf.
4. Your Application
When you submit a change-of-name notice, you agree that:
- The former name, new name, and reason for change you provide are true and correct to the best of your knowledge
- Any supporting document you upload is genuine and relates to your application
- You will review your notice carefully before payment and publication
- You have read and understood our Privacy Policy
5. Public Publication
Before payment, you must confirm that you consent to the public publication of your notice.
Once published, your former name, new name, Public Notice Number (PNN), reason for change, and publication date become part of the permanent public registry and may be searched, viewed, and shared by anyone.
Your email address, phone number, and uploaded affidavit images are not published on the public registry.
Publication cannot ordinarily be reversed. Contact us if you believe a published notice contains a material error.
6. Fees and Payment
A standard publication fee applies to each notice. The current fee is displayed before you pay.
Payments are processed by our payment service provider. By proceeding to payment, you also agree to their applicable terms.
Once your notice has been published, fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we fail to deliver the publication service you paid for.
7. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Platform to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent notices
- Impersonate another person or publish a notice without proper authority
- Upload forged, altered, or unrelated documents
- Interfere with the security or proper operation of the Platform
- Scrape, harvest, or misuse registry data in violation of applicable law
8. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access at all times.
We do not warrant that every bank, government agency, employer, or other institution will accept a notice published on the Platform in place of any other form of publication they may require.
Verification features, including automated document checks, assist our process but do not replace human judgment or legal review where required.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Platform, your reliance on a published notice, or actions taken by third parties based on registry information.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. It forms part of these Terms of Use and is available at https://publicnotice.ng/privacy.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are made.
Continued use of the Platform after updated terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
